Complexity is Often a Disguise for Fragility.

What does this mean for a macro watcher? Cryptography is the bedrock of the blockchain economy. Every DeFi protocol, every Layer 2, every stablecoin depends on the security of the underlying primitives. A breakthrough in obfuscation would reduce the cost of privacy-preserving technologies, potentially lowering the barrier for institutional adoption. But the path from paper to production is littered with failures.
